There are a few different types of screen printing inks that we use at The Print Bar and they are all waterbased. We use a brand of ink called MagnaColours which are both eco-friendly and sustainable.
We offer a wide range of MagnaColour inks, all of which have excellent washability. There are soft hand inks, glow inks, neons, metallics and special effects such as crackle or puff. Our 2 most popular inks on the Gold Coast are;
Standard Waterbased: Our standard waterbased screen printing inks are vibrant and durable. We can precisely match Pantone colours and print very fine detail with excellent results. With dark garments the ink sits on top of the fabric so you will be able to feel it, but on white garments the ink goes into the fabric so it is much softer to touch. This ink is much softer than traditional plastisol / plastic ink that most other screen printers use.
Discharge Ink: This is a type of ink where we bleach the fabric and it gives you a vintage look with a very soft texture that feels the same as the cotton. The only downside is that because it gives you a vintage result you cannot get bright colour vibrancy or match Pantone colours exactly with this method.
