Super Sports Shirt Designs

So it’s official – we’ve got footy fever! This year’s State of Origin has been such a hot competition and we, along with many Aussies, are dusting off our jerseys for the series, and the big final game in a few weeks! While we had a blast adding some competitive fun with our special Blues + Maroons tee designs we thought we’d also put together a short list of our favourite recent sports shirt designs from around the world!

Honestly, football should include fantasy characters – how much more fun would that be? I wonder how well a wizard would fair in a game of footy. Probably better than my fantasy team!

 Wrestling or wildlife? That one “W” could mean so much… maybe it’s both – or maybe it’s wildlife wrestling! Or at least that’s what this designer thought! This awesome, punny WWF shirt inspired many other wrestling panda designs, too! Whether you’re a fan of wrestling, animals or just a good joke, this is the tee to have.

 One of the most political shirts in recent sporting history, basketball legends Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Derrick Rose, the Brooklyn Nets and even Jay-Z joined in support of Eric Garner – a Staten Island man who died as a result of a forcible police arrest. Rose was the first to wear a simple slogan tees stating “I Can’t Breathe” and the movement spread within the NBA and across America like wildfire. Shows you the power one custom printed shirt can hold!

Motorhead Under 10’s Team

 It just goes to show who you know makes a big difference! In 2006, mega metal band Motorhead sponsored Greenback FC’s under 10’s team with rock-worthy jerseys because the team’s manager was chummy with Lemmy from the band. Pretty great way to strike fear (and the spirit of rock) into the hearts of your junior opponents!

 Working up a sweat isn’t pretty but it doesn’t have to be a bad thing, and these clever workout designs definitely make sweating it out more interesting! While there’s a billion motivational slogans, we’re huge fans of active wear themed around our favourite shows like Game of Thrones and Jurassic World! No better way to put the game in GAME ON! at the gym than with some original work out gear.

 And of course, we couldn’t finish off without a tee for the upcoming State of Origin final game. The more we think about the maroons cane toad mascot and the blues mascot, a cockroach, the more we think we Aussie are sickos. But one thing’s for certain – we love our sport, and origin is the one time of year that we NSW and QLD Origin supporters can wear vermin without shuddering.
