What is screen printing?

Screen printing is a traditional printing process that has been around for hundreds of years. In essence it involves making a stencil and then pushing ink through it onto the other side. This is a great process for large runs because it provides consistency at speed and is therefore capable of producing top quality products at great value. 

Waterbased screen printing

At The Print Bar we are unique in that we use waterbase inks. This means we are one of the only printing companies in Australia with a minimal environmental footprint. What does this mean for you? The benefit of waterbased inks over traditional inks is that they have a soft texture and they last as long as the garment does, with no signs of cracking or peeling over time. The waterbased inks are harder to work with, but the results speak for themselves.

Artwork requirements for screen printing

Screenprinting works best with vector artwork supplied from a graphic designer in either eps, ai, svg or pdf format. We can also work with halftone images/illustrations/photographic work if it is supplied in a high res png/jpg file at 600dpi. If you are struggling to prepare you artwork in these formats our team can help you out and prepare them for you. To do this just reach out to our sales team.

Minimum quantity for screen printing

The minimum quantity for screenprinting is 20 units. You can have a mixture of t-shirt styles and sizes as long as the design is the same on all the shirts. Follow the button below to learn more about our screen printing options.
